Nothing More

Ruthless men gain only wealth. (Proverbs 11:16, NIV 1984).

My Musings – Ruthless, without pity or mercy. Only, nothing more. It can only acquire things that do not last, and nothing more. When it is gone, there is nothing of lasting value. Leaving in its wake relationships damaged beyond repair because of the ruthlessness. Had they pursued relationships with the same passion and fervor, their lives would have been immeasurably enriched. How ironic.

My Advice“What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself?” (Luke 9:25, ESV 2016). Nothing.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
