Better for Him

“If anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me [Jesus] to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.” (Matthew 19:6, 10, NIV 1984).

My Musings – Hyperbole? I think not. Understatement? I believe so. A lot of damage being done in the classrooms and Universities these days, that will someday be called into account. Better to face their angels than the Father in heaven.

My Advice – This text ought to hang on the wall of every classroom.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
