Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. (Matthew 28:18–20, NIV 1984).
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. (Mark 16:15–16, NIV 1984).
Then he [one of the criminal crucified with Christ] said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus answered him, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.” (Luke 23:42–43, NIV 1984).
My Musings – I acknowledge one baptism [as an act of obedience and as a symbol of] the remission of sins. (The Nicene Creed [edited]). Clearly baptism is not a requirement of salvation (the thief on the cross), but is expected as an act of obedience and is symbolic what has taken place when one places their faith in Jesus Christ — “having been buried with him in baptism and raised with him through your faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead.” (Colossians 2:12, NIV 1984). It is the blood of Jesus that washes away our sin, which is symbolized by water baptism.
My Advice – Place your faith in Jesus Christ (grace alone) and be baptized as a public witness of what has taken place in your life and as an act of obedience.
