Second Guessing God

Exodus 13:17 – When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter.  For God said, “If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.”   (NIV 1978)

My Musing – We are often perplexed by the route that God takes us.  We may think that our way is better, shorter or faster.  But God, who knows the beginning from the end, who knows what might happen if we take another way, always knows what is best for us.  He is interested in us making it to the destination.  The trip may be long, but it will be sure.

My Advice – Do not second guess where God leads you.  He sees and knows things that we cannot.  Trust Him to lead you right, even if it seems wrong or does not make sense to you.  In the end, you will see He was right and how much sense it made after all.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
