Stand Firm & Be Still

Exodus 14:13, 14 – Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid.  Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today.  The Egyptians you see today you will never see again.  The Lord will fight for you; you need only be still.” (NIV 1978)

My Musing – You need only be still.  Usually we either flee in fear, or plunge headlong and recklessly into danger.   As a result, instead of never seeing the “Egyptians” again, we fail to see the deliverance that God intended.

My Advice – You will face many “Egyptians’ in life’s journey.  You need neither face them down alone, nor will you need to flee from their face.  Stand firm in the Lord and see how magnificently He delivers you.  Once He delivers, you will never see them again.  There may be others to take their place, but the God who delivers once, is more than able to deliver time and again.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
