Only A Stand-By God?

Judges 11:7Jephthah said to them, “Didn’t you hate me and drive me from my father’s house? Why do you come to me now, when you are in trouble?’

My Musing – This is the way we sometimes treat God. We have little use (or no time) for Him when things are going good. But, once the trouble starts or we need something we go to Him asking for His help.

My Advice – Keep God close in good times and in bad times. Never be in a position where He would be justified in saying to you “why do you come to me now, when you are in trouble?”

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
