Nagging & Prodding

Judges 16:16, 17With such nagging she prodded him day after day until he was tired to death. So he told her everything. (NIV 1978)

My Musing – The devil is persistent, so we need to be on guard. He’ll keep at us trying to wear us down. We need to continue to resist him so he will flee from us.

My Advice – Do not give in to persistent temptation. Each time you resist makes the next time easier. Each time you resist you are that much closer to gaining the complete victory over whatever you are being tempted with. Eventually, the devil will give up (on that one). But every time you give in you go back to square one.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.

  1. Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own:
for he is a liar, and the father of it.
    John 8:44
