God’s Devising

2 Samuel 14:14 – Like water spilled on the ground, which cannot be recovered, so we must die. But God does not take away life; instead, He devises ways so that a banished person may not be estranged from Him. (NIV 1978)

My Musing – Likely a prophecy of Christ. But it works on different levels as well. God is not content when we wander away from Him. He takes the initiative and devises ways to restore us. While it is ultimately up to us to respond to Him, He continues to pursue us.

My Advice – Always be on the lookout for God’s mercy and grace. Don’t over fixate on negative consequences. Look at it as a way that God has devised to end whatever distance is between you.
