The Cost of Sacrifice

2 Samuel 24-24 – “I will not sacrifice to the Lord my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing.”

My Musing – We need to live a sacrificial life for God. Giving to God things of little value or sacrifice speaks volumes about our motives and true desire to serve Him.

My Advice – Do not give God your leftovers or your extras that mean nothing. Give Him your best, whether this is time, talent or tithes. Be sacrificial. He was sacrificial for you.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
