Seeing Great In Small

2 King 5:13 – “My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it?” (NIV 1978)

My Musing – We cannot all be destined to do great things for God. But it is a great thing to be called to do anything, by God. God does not look at the magnitude of the task, He looks at our faithfulness in carrying it out.

My Advice – Whatever God calls you to in life, do it faithfully. Do not think that just because the task is small that God thinks less of it than the large tasks others are called to do. By the same token, do not look down on others whose tasks for God seem less than your own.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
