Psalms 32:3-5 – When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning. Day and night Your hand was heavy upon me. Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity…and You forgave the guilt of my sin. (NIV 1978)
My Musings – We think that by keeping silent the guilt will go away. Instead, we groan and waste away. We think God will relent in time, but His hand grows heavier. We think we can cover it up and God will not see. Better to confess and expose the sin, secure God’s forgiveness, and move on.
My Advice – There is nothing to be gained by being stubborn and not confessing sin. Deal with it quickly and decisively. Until you do, you will be miserable. When you do, God will forgive you and bring you relief.
