My Musings – The context of this verse is the pursuit of pleasure and excess that left the writer empty. He was indeed chasing the wind. That is why he found everything meaningless. He was chasing with the wrong motive.
My Advice – Make sure what you chase after in life (career, goals, house, education, recognition, etc…) is worth the chase. Check out your motives. Are they based upon greed, envy, ego, dissatisfaction? If so, you will most likely not be satisfied even when you “catch” what you are chasing.
