Though

Habakkuk 3:17, 18Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vine, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. (NIV 1978)

My Musings – Even if we have nothing, we have everything. Nothing we gain in this life can add value to what we have in Christ. Nothing we lose in this life can take away from our inheritance to come.

My Advice –  Thus far, you have lived a fairly privileged life. Good health, never in real want and the best education money could buy. Nevertheless, hard times may come to you at some time in your life. They are, in fact, quite common in the early years of being on your own. You are not alone in these times, God is with you. You can always rejoice in that and be joyful despite being in need.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
