But Not Just for Breakfast Anymore

Mark 1:35 – Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed. (NIV 1978)

My Musings – This needs to a regular practice for believers. We need alone time, where there are no distractions. Distractions can come from our environment (went off), others (solitary), and our daily agenda (early).

My Advice – You need to spend time with God each day. The mornings are best, since they get you in the right frame of mind for the rest of the day.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
