All In Good Conscience

Acts 23:1 – “My brothers, I have fulfilled my duty to God in all good conscience to this day.” (NIV 1978)

My Musings – It is not enough for us to do our duty. We must do so with a clear conscience. This means doing it right and without being compelled. Doing it out of love and devotion rather than grudgingly and out of mere duty.

My Advice – Do what you can to keep your conscience clear. If not, you can clear it by confessing to God.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
