So That…

“Continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”  (2 Timothy 3:14–17, NIV 1984).

My Musings – To be continued.  I used to hate hearing that phase at the end of a particularly riveting television show.  I didn’t want to wait another week to get resolution.  Wouldn’t it be something if we could hardly wait to continue in our learning of the Holy Scriptures?  For it to become much more useful to us in terms of teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteous.  To become “thoroughly equipped for every good work?

My Advice – You may continue.  To the point of being convinced and made wise.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
