“Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men.” (Titus 3:1–2, NIV 1984).
My Musings – No matter who wins the election, we are to be obedient subjects, ready to move forward and do what is expected of a good citizen. There may be a temptation to slander the one we oppose, but we must not. Some will be tempted to violence, but we should not only be peaceable, but considerate as well. Others will want to gloat that their candidate prevailed, but they should resist, and show true (not false) humility. Wouldn’t it be a shame if we had to be reminded to behave the way that we should.
My Advice – Win or lose, think long and hard on how you think the Lord would have us behave.
