“Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. What shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour.” (John 12:26, 27, NIV 1984).
My Musings – We know what reason the “hour” brought for Jesus. Now Jesus calls us to follow Him. It is something we must do as His servants. We do not know when that “hour” will be for us or what the specific reason that “hour” will bring. For most in the western world, the hours up to now have been one of relative ease. But an hour may come when that is not so. For some that hour will require all. Are you ready?
My Advice – Since accepting Christ, how closely have you followed Him? What have you done to prepare for what that hour might bring? Are you ready for it? Look around. The time is growing short. Fill your lamps with oil and trim the wicks.

Years ago my pastor remarked, in the middle of a debate on the end times, “regardless of what you think, just be ready.”

Thanks CG. We don’t know the hour. We may debate pre, post, or mid. But their is no debate that He will return. Ready or not.

For American Christians, the days of living in a Judeo/Christian country are over. We cannot fear looking different than the world. If we can’t speak up for truth now, how will we manage when things get worse? The Bible is becoming more and more controversial. We must hold tightly to God’s Word no matter how much it differs from the world-view.
