“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body.” (Philippians 1:21–24, NIV 1984).

My Musings – As the state of the world grows worse, I sense that many Christians (me included) are becoming more and more preoccupied with the end times (specifically the rapture) and a “desire to depart and be with Christ.”  While the term rapture does not appear in the Scriptures, the concept certainly does.  How else can one explain two different descriptions of Christ’s return (“like a thief in the night (1 Thessalonians…

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
