“If serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.” (Joshua 24:15, NIV 1984).

My Musings – What possible “gods” could there be that would make serving the LORD seem undesirable?  How could one possibly compare the “gods” of today (fortune, fame, power, possessions, youth, appearance, etc.) with the Creator of all there is?  These “gods” are temporal.  The LORD is eternal.

Yet it’s a narrow and less traveled road.  Far too many “choose for themselves” to serve these other “gods.”  They believe that possessing them will be far more desirable, not realizing that these “gods” end up possessing them.  In the end, they will all be…

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
