“If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. When he [Satan] lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don’t you believe me? He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.” (John 8:31–32, 44-47, NIV 1984).

My Musings – Jesus asks, “If I am telling the truth, why don’t you believe me?” As absurd as it sounds it is because He is telling the truth that many do not believe Him. Believing the father of lies instead of “the way, the truth…

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
