Though

Though He brings grief, He will show compassion, so great is His unfailing love. For He does not willingly bring affliction or grief to the children of men. (Lamentations 3:32–33, NIV 1984).

My Musings – He would rather show compassion than bring grief. Because of His great love, He will bring grief when He must and compassion when He can. But even when He brings grief, it is not something He willingly does. Sounds like a loving father, does He not?

My Musings – Grief only comes when it is called for. At times, to teach us something we need to learn, but could not learn any other way. At other times to bring correction when we do not respond to gentler promptings. Do not lament the former and do your best to respond before the latter is needed.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
