Then Is Now

The Jews demanded of him, “What miraculous sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?” Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.” But the temple he had spoken of was his body. After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed. (John 2:18-19, 21–22, NIV 1984).

My Musings – You want a miraculous sign? Top this. Probably more than they were looking for, and it should have been enough to win over the entire Jewish community. Yet even today, the majority of the Jewish community do not believe. The problem is He was not the kind of Messiah they were looking for. Someday, maybe soon, that will change. “For the day of the LORD is near. Then you will know that I, the LORD your God, dwell in Zion, my holy hill. Jerusalem will be holy; never again will foreigners invade her.” (Joel 3:14, 17, NIV 1984).

My Advice – To my Jewish friends. Why wait for “then [to] know?” He is your Messiah.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
