“If you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even ‘sinners’ do that. But love your enemies, do good to them.” (Luke 6:33, 35, NIV 1984).

My Musings – I loved playing all kinds of sports with the neighborhood kids when I was young. I liked baseball and football best, probably because I was better at them than other sports. Not good enough outside the neighborhood, but good enough for that. I liked basketball too, but my talents were sorely lacking. Nevertheless, I could make the layups. No big accomplishment. Everyone could make the layups. It was the outside shots that required a bit more talent and finesse.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
