No Lie

“All Scripture is God-breathed.” (2 Timothy 3:16, NIV 1984).

“He who is the Glory of Israel [God] does not lie or change his mind.” (1 Samuel 15:29, NIV 1984).

My Musings – From these two verses we can conclude (among other things) that what the Bible says is the truth is the truth, what the Bible calls sin is sin, and what the Bible says will happen, will happen. Time will not cause it to expire. Scientific discoveries will not contradict it. Cultural shifts will not move it. Changes in man’s beliefs will not change God’s mind. This is not God’s hubris, for He is always right and righteous.

This leaves a person with only three responses.

  1. Deny the existence of God. But this will require believing all that is (time, space and matter) came from nothing that was, and by chance all that was unpredictable chaos became ordered by…

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
