We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10–11, NIV 1984).

My Musings – It’s been quite a while since I had to prepare a resume, and I am at that age that it is unlikely I will need to do so again. But unless things have changed, resumes typically outline your qualifications, such as education and experience, as well as the significant accomplishments thus far in your career.

In the spiritual realm, the only qualifications that matter is whether or not you have been born again. Until that point, accomplishments do not matter for much. But after that they matter a great deal. There are things that God has fashioned us for, has prepared us for, that He meant for us, and only us, to accomplish. I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
