Lacking Nothing

A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. (Proverbs 31:10–11, NIV 1984).

My Musings – Fifty-years ago tonight, my wife Eileen fell in love with a 1969 Camaro SS. Eventually, she came around to being fond of its owner too.

My Advice “May [I continue to] rejoice in the wife of [my] youth…may [I] ever be captivated by her love.” (Proverbs 5:18–19, NIV 1984, edited for general audiences). I no longer have a sporty car to captivate her with, but we’re still together after all these years. And that is definitely “worth far more than rubies.” May you be a blessed as I have been.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
