How Majestic is Your Name

O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. (Psalm 8:1, NIV 1984).

My Musings – Majesty and glory, throughout all the earth and higher than the heavens. How can we possibly remain silent? “Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, ‘Teacher, rebuke your disciples!’ ‘I tell you, ‘He replied, ‘if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.'” (Luke 19:39, NIV 1984).

And yet, “being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death— even death on a cross!” (Philippians 2:6-8, NIV 1984). So, “God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:9-10, NIV 1984).

Therefore, “He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6, NIV 1984). And “on his robe and on his thigh, he has this name written: King of kings and Lord of lords.” (Revelation 19:16, NIV 1984).”I AM WHO I AM.” (Exodus 3:14, NIV 1984).

My Advice“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Acts 2:21, NIV 1984). “You are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:21, NIV 1984). Don’t “keep silent.” Make the call.
