Why Will You Die?

“Get a new heart and a new spirit. Why will you die, O house of Israel? For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign Lord. Repent and live!” (Ezekiel 18:31–32, NIV 1982).

My Musings – He urges the same of us today. “Repent and live!

My Advice – He takes “no pleasure in the death of anyone.” Rather, He would be “pleased to give [us] the kingdom.” (Luke 12:32, NIV 1984). A gift. We just need to accept it. “Why [would we] die,” when there is absolutely no reason to do so? A question that will haunt us for all eternity if we fail to accept His invitation.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
