From That Time On

And the name of the city (Jerusalem) from that time on will be: the Lord is there. (Ezekiel 48:35, NIV 1984).

My Musings – This is a remarkable conclusion to his prophecy. Not merely the return of His shekinah glory, but God Himself. The fellowship of the garden, restored, never to be broken again.

My Advice“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.’ He who was seated on the throne said, ‘I am making everything new!’ Then he said, ‘Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.’ (Revelation 21:1–5, NIV 1984).

We know He will be there. The question is: will we? “He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son.” (Revelation 21:6–7, NIV 1984). And just who are those who overcome? “Everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.” (1 John 5:4–5, NIV 1984).

Be an overcomer. Be born again.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
