[God] said: “Son of man [Ezekiel], I am sending you to the Israelites…You must speak my words to them, whether they listen or fail to listen.” (Ezekiel 2:3, 7, NIV 1984).
My Musings – Ezekiel was sent to the people of Israel. The disciples were sent as “witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8, NIV 1984). For most of us, it may only stretch as far as our neighborhoods, schools and workplaces. We won’t know beforehand whether people will “listen of fail to listen.” It doesn’t matter. “[We] must speak [His] words to them.”
My Advice – Many will not listen. Many will hate us because of what we have to say. But for the sake of the few who will listen, we must keep on speaking “[His] words.” “You will be given what to say, for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.” (Mathew 10:19–20, NIV 1984).
