The Lord is One

When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.” (Luke 3:21–22, NIV 1984).

My Musings – The finite cannot comprehend the infinite. Nor can it fully understand how one God can exist as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Yet here it is. One in essence, but existing in three co-equal persons. Blessed Trinity. Essence. The ultimate nature (one God), as opposed to existence (three persons).

My Advice “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.” (Deuteronomy 6:4, NIV 1984). Worship the three-in-one.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
