“But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you.” (Luke 6:27-31, NIV 1984).
My Musings – An accurate description of our culture. Not. I’m not even sure that it is an accurate description of many claiming to be followers of Christ. What I am sure of, is that the culture would be much better if more believers followed these instructions faithfully.
My Advice – “I [the Lord] will take revenge; I will pay them back. In due time their feet will slip. Their day of disaster will arrive, and their destiny will overtake them.” (Deuteronomy 32:35, NLT 2015). What they need is our pity for the “destiny [that] will overtake them.” Who knows, the “good [we do] to those who hate [us]” might cause them to see Christ and His grace in us.
