As One Who Serves

“Who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.” (Luke 22:27, NIV 1984).

My Musings – All who are in Christ Jesus have a place at the table. That is a future hope with a present reality. But while we are on this side of eternity, we must follow the Master’s example of servanthood.

My Advice“Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling.” (Psalms 2:11, NIV 1984). Fear for the those who are not in Christ. Tremble at the fate that could have been ours had we not accepted Christ. Joy, that He counts us worthy to serve “tables” here as we await His call to “suppertime” there.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
