Not until halfway through the Feast did Jesus go up to the temple courts and begin to teach. The Jews were amazed and asked, “How did this man get such learning without having studied?” Jesus answered, “My teaching is not my own. It comes from him who sent me. If anyone chooses to do God’s will, he will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own.” (John 7:14–17, NIV 1984).
My Musings – Many today, and ever since Christ’s first coming, have questioned whether or not His “teaching [came] from God or whether [He spoke] on [His] own.” The answer has been in this text all along. “ If anyone chooses to do God’s will, [they] will find out.”
My Musings – “If from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul.” (Deuteronomy 4:29, NIV 1984). Not only God, but His Son as well. For the Son sits at the right hand of the Father. But it must be done in earnest, “with all [our] heart and with all [our] soul.“
