Even after Jesus had done all these miraculous signs in their presence, they still would not believe in him. This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet: “Lord, who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?” (John 12:37–38, NIV 1984).
My Musings – And the most miraculous sign? “After his suffering [crucifixion], he showed himself to these men and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive [risen from the grave].” (Acts 1:3, NIV 1984). And these signs were revealed to us in the Scriptures by the eyewitnesses or by those who heard about them from the eyewitnesses.
My Advice – In the end, not believing the message will not be excused. We must “believe in Him,” if we are to escape the coming judgement. “For the one who rejects me and does not accept my [message]; that very word which I spoke will condemn him at the last day.” (John 12:48, NIV 1984).
