“I [Paul] admit that I worship the God of our fathers as a follower of the Way [followers of Christ], which they call a sect. I believe everything that agrees with the Law and that is written in the Prophets, and I have the same hope in God as these men, that there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked. So, I strive always to keep my conscience clear before God and man.” (Acts 24:14–16, NIV 1984).
My Musings – “I believe everything that agrees with the Law and that is written in the Prophets,” just as Paul did. The law (except for the ceremonial and dietary laws) have not been set aside. Some of the punishments (stoning and putting to death) have been set aside waiting for the final judgment. All that the prophets predicted, especially about the Jesus the Messiah, have been fulfilled other than those relating to end times. Those too will come to pass. Just as they are written. Therefore, be advised that “all Scripture is God-breathed and is [still] useful [and relevant].” (2 Timothy 3:16, NIV 1984).
My Advice – That being said, we should “not let [the Scripture, Old and New] depart from [our] mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that [we] may be careful to do everything written in it.” (Joshua 1:8, NIV 1984). From saving grace to acts of obedience as “follower[s] of the Way.” By doing this, we can “keep {our] conscience clear before God and man.“
