Who Can Be Against Us?

Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. (Romans 8:34, NIV 1984).

My Musings – “Go ahead, make my day.” A quote from pop culture (Clint Eastwood, as Dirty Harry in Sudden Impact). Bring it on. Take your best shot. Hollow boasts compared to “devise your strategy, but it will be thwarted; propose your plan, but it will not stand, for God is with us.” (Isaiah 8:10, NIV 1984). But first, you have to get past His Son, who “is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.”

So, be advised that “neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38–39, NIV 1984). Could there possibly be more encouraging words?

My Advice – Another quote from pop culture, ““Ya Gotta Believe,” (Tug McGraw, relief pitcher for the “amazing” 1973 NY Mets). For if you do believe, it’s amazing grace. “What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31, NIV 1984).
