I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.” (Romans 1:16–17, NIV 1984).
My Musings – Nothing short of the “power of God” is capable of bringing salvation to fallen mankind. And rest assured, there is nothing greater than His power. Remarkable as it sounds, this unmatched power is available to “everyone who believes.” That’s faith. One cannot become righteous apart from that faith. It may be hard for us to visualize, but as Paul said elsewhere, “we live by faith, not by sight,” (2 Corinthians 5:7, NIV 1984).
My Advice – “Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord, is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.” (Isaiah 12:2, NIV 1984). This “is by faith from first to last.” The only way to really live. The only way for Him to “become [our] salvation.” That is the gospel truth. Let’s “not [be] ashamed” to proclaim it. It is our “song” of praise.
