God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body. (1 Corinthians 12:18–20, NIV 1984).
My Musings – Paul is speaking about the body of Christ, the Church. “Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” (1 Corinthians 12:27, NIV 1984). We each have a part to play. We should be neither envious of nor look down on the part that others have to play. They are “just as [God] wants them [and us] to be.”
My Advice – “Strange, isn’t it? Each man’s life touches so many other lives. When he isn’t around, he leaves an awful hole, doesn’t he?” (Clarence, from “It’s a Wonderful Life”). In God’s Kingdom, we are ach filling a “hole.” It may be big or small, but it is important. But we are not so important that if we leave the hole unfilled, God will fill it.
“If you [Quenn Esther] remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14, NIV 1984). Whatever our role is, it is a “royal position,” for the King has appointed us to it. Let’s not disappoint Him by leaving an awful hole that will need to be filled “from another place.“
