So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. (Colossians 2:6–7, NIV 1984).

My Musings“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith.” (Ephesians 2:7, NIV 1984). That’s how we receive Him and that’s how we “continue to live in him.” For, “just as it is written: ‘The righteous will live by faith.'” (Romans 1:17, NIV 1984). We mustn’t try walking or living by anything else. For anything else will let us down.

My Advice – If we “live by faith,” just like Samuel, we will continue “to grow in stature and in favor with the Lord.” (1 Samuel 2:26, NIV 1984). Or as Paul says, “rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as [we] were taught.” And as we do, let’s be “overflowing with thankfulness.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
