Continue

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. (Colossians 2:6–7, NIV 1984).

My Musings – “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith.” (Ephesians 2:7, NIV 1984). That’s how we receive Him and that’s how we “continue to live in him.” For, “just as it is written: ‘The righteous will live by faith.'” (Romans 1:17, NIV 1984). We mustn’t try walking or living by anything else. For anything else will let us down.

My Advice – If we “live by faith,” just like Samuel, we will continue “to grow in stature and in favor with the Lord.” (1 Samuel 2:26, NIV 1984). Or as Paul says, “rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as [we] were taught.” And as we do, let’s be “overflowing with thankfulness.“
