As for you, brothers, never tire of doing what is right. (2 Thessalonians 3:13, NIV 1984).
My Musings – “What is right?” That is the question. Or at least the question that today’s culture would ask. A common answer these days is it depends. That there is no absolute right and no absolute wrong. This, of course, is absolutely wrong. For “the Lord gives wisdom, and from his [Word] come knowledge and understanding…[from it] you will understand what is right and just and fair—every good path.” (Proverbs 2:6, 9, NIV 1984).
My Advice – Our culture will also tell us that this is outdated and no longer true. If it ever was true. Another falsehood. “I the Lord do not change.” (Malachi 3:6, NIV 1984). So, it only stands to reason that “what is right” and what is wrong, as recorded in His Word does not change either. But of course, it is not sufficient to know what is right. We must also do what is right by placing our faith in God’s Son, Jesus of Nazareth.
