Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil. Therefore, let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity. (Hebrews 5:13–6:1, NIV 1984).
My Musings – we are born to grow, to not remain infants forever. The same is true with being born again. It is a beginning, albeit a necessary beginning, “until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Then we will no longer be infants.” (Ephesians 4:12–14, NIV 1984).
My Advice – “The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age; they will stay fresh and green.” (Psalm 92:12–14, NIV 1984). Grow. Bear fruit. Stay fresh. Do not merely grow to old age, mature and flourish.
