You know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect…chosen before the creation of the world. (1 Peter 1:18–20, NIV 1984).
My Musings – Created in God’s image it would take more than something perishable to redeem mankind should it fall. Which God knew it would “before the creation of the world.” Because He had already chosen the means of redemption before He uttered a single “let there be.” For, “flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.” (1 Corinthians 15:50, NIV 1984).
My Advice – “Without money [we have been] redeemed.” (Isaiah 52:3, NIV 1984). But only if we place our faith in Jesus Christ, “of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire.” (1 Peter 1:7, NIV 1984). For, “whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16, NIV 1984). Those who do not will “perish because they [refuse] to love the truth and so be saved.” (2 Thessalonians 2:10, NIV 1984). Do not refuse.
