“I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.” (Revelation 3:8, NIV 1984).
My Musings – “City girls just seem to find out early, how to open doors with just a smile.” (The Eagles). Christians, on the other hand, can open doors with “little strength.” Doors that no one else can shut. All it takes is to keep God’s word and not deny Christ’s name.
“Therefore, [we] will boast all the more gladly about [our] weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on [us]. That is why, for Christ’s sake, [we] delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when [we are] weak, then [we are] strong.” (2 Corinthians 12:9–10, NIV 1984).
“Ants are creatures of little strength, yet they store up their food in the summer; coneys are creatures of little power, yet they make their home in the crags.” (Proverbs 30:25–26, NIV 1984).
My Advice – Often, however, the tragedy is that once the door is open there are some who do not enter in. How sad is that? “And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel and the prophets, who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength.” (Hebrews 11:32-33, NIV 1984).
What more can I say? Be a Gideon or a Samuel. Be an ant or a coney. Whatever door God opens, walk on through.
