There is something else meaningless that occurs on earth: righteous men who get what the wicked deserve, and wicked men who get what the righteous deserve. (Ecclesiastes 8:14, NIV 1984).
My Musings – “That occurs on earth.” This is the key point that people miss when they accuse God of wrongdoing for the good that happens to bad people and the bad that happens to “good” people. These things occur on the earth due to the fall, which upset God’s creative order and intent. But, “He has set a day when He will judge the world with justice by the Man [Jesus] He has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising Him from the dead.” (Acts 17:31, NIV 1984). On that day, justice will be served and the wrongs set right.
The “righteous,” those who have put their faith in the One that God “raised from the dead,” will receive mercy. The “wicked,” those who have rejected “the Man [God] has appointed,” will receive justice. No one will receive injustice. God cannot rightly be blamed now, nor can He rightly be blamed on that day.
My Advice – Put your faith in Jesus. “For it is by grace you [will be] saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:7–9, NIV 1984). There is nothing “meaningless” about that.
