Just Sayin’

Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her. Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. [Parents], do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.  (portions of Ephesians 5:21–6:5, NIV 1984).

My Musings – Three in the morning and I’m still awake, so I picked up a pen and a page. And I started writing just what I’d say, if we were face to face. I’d tell you just what you mean to me. Tell you these simple truths. Be strong in the Lord and never give up hope. You’re gonna do great things, I already know.  God’s got his hand on you so, don’t live life in fear. Forgive and forget, but don’t forget why you’re here. Take your time and pray. These are the words I would say.  From one simple life to another I will say, Come find peace in the Father. I know ’cause I’ve already been there, so please hear these simple truths. (Sidewalk Prophets).

Ever wonder what people might say about us when we are gone? I think you might agree that things are much better when they are said before people are gone.  The song lyrics above, remind me that too many things in life go unsaid that should be said.  Of course, a lot of things are also said that shouldn’t be, but that a topic for a different blog.

We have many people in our lives that mean the world to us.  People, if it came right down to it that we would die for.  So why wait for the things we should say?  Words delayed until a eulogy do no good for our loved ones.  Though distance may separate us from our loved ones, and we cannot always say things face-to-face, there are many other ways to communicate.  To me, texts and e-mail should be the last means used.  If face-to-face is not possible, do it virtually, call them, or write them a personal note in your own handwriting.

My Advice – From one simple life to another, please hear these simple truths.  Let your loved ones know just what they mean to you.  Don’t let them be words that you would say, or even what you should say.  Let them be words that you will say.
