Forget Me Not

Dad Devotion

Psalms 13:1, 2How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and every day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me? But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, for He has been good to me. (NIV 1978)

My Musings – David was a “man after God’s own heart,” yet he had moments of great despair and questioning of God. At the same time, He could see God’s goodness of the past and anticipate with trust in his coming salvation and deliverance.

My Advice – You can question and be sorrowful, but you need not despair. God has been good and faithful to you in the past, and He is willing and able to do the same in the future. Take comfort in that thought no matter what the circumstance.
