Numbers 18:29 – You must present as the Lord’s portion the best and holiest of everything given to you. (NIV 1978).
My Musing – We tend to give God the leftovers and the hand-me-downs. We give to God after we’ve provided for ourselves, rather than giving to Him first. We do not give Him our best. We keep that for ourselves. God deserves better because He has given us everything that we have.
My Advice – God has blessed you with talent, intelligence and success. These will most likely result in material blessings as well. Never ever forget how these things came to be. Give to God from your first and best (talents and treasures). You will never be sorry and as strange as it may sound, you will never find that you gave away something you needed. God will continue to provide.

Wisdom is the main thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting understanding.
Proverbs 4:7
For wisdom is a defense, and money is a defense: but the excellence of knowledge is, that wisdom givesth life to them that have it.

And when thou art comes in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.
So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out.
And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son dela, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.
Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.

And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the fats shall overflow with wine and oil.
And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sat among you.
And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath spoken wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.
And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.
