Count The Cost

Count The Cost

Numbers 22:18But Balaam answered them, “Even if Balak gave me his palace filled with silver and gold, I could not do anything great or small to go beyond the command of the Lord my God.” (NIV 1978)

My Musing – No gain can compensate us for going against God’s will. That price is too high.

My Advice – There will be times that you will be tempted to do things that you know are not right, whether in your career or your personal life. The pay-offs may seem spectacular (possessions, power, position, prestige) and well worth the risk. They are not. Obedience, morality and staying true to your character, a child of God, is much more valuable.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
